One small step back, 1 giant leap in the right direction, it’s time to rest… to re-set
Since January many of us have been moving at pace — working hard, showing up for the goals and intentions we set at the start of the year. And sometimes, around now, things can start to feel a little harder.
When that happens, it might actually be a sign to pause, rest… to re-set rather than push.
This week I’m taking a bit of a “me week”. Keeping work minimal, creating more space, and getting back to the gym programme, getting proper walks again — not the rushed “get out the door quickly” kind or jumping on the walking pad just to tick the box. Just time to think, breathe, and reset a little.
At the start of the year I had two main goals:
• Set up the membership site — tick.
• Get the Reformers into the studio — tick (almost… classes launching soon).
…and it’s not even the end of February yet! But my own training and nutrition has taken a hit by prioritising elsewhere and the lower energy levels are starting to show!
Sometimes the next step isn’t doing more. It’s giving yourself a moment to step back and look at where you are.
It’s not always about pushing forwards — sometimes a step back allows a massive leap in the right direction.
If you’re feeling this too, here are a few gentle prompts you might like to sit with:
- What has gone well for me so far this year?
- What am I proud of that I haven’t properly acknowledged?
- What feels heavy right now?
- What would help me feel more like myself again?
- What is one small step that would move things forward from here?
If you’d like to go a little deeper with this, I’ve added reflection prompts like these into the Wellness section inside the Unlimited Access membership in the FlightFit Online Academy.
Take a little space if you need it this week.
You might be surprised what becomes clearer when you do.
Always feel free to message and ask questions about anything I talk about here, I’m more than happy to chat!
