I’ve been thinking a lot about the idea of going full circle recently.

We talk about health and fitness like it should be this nice straight journey. You start somewhere, set a goal, follow the plan and get there.

Except it’s really not like that, is it?!

We change. Life changes. What we enjoy changes. The way we train changes. Sometimes we’re really focused, sometimes other things take priority. We try new things, go off in completely different directions and sometimes end up right back where we started… just with a lot more experience behind us.

Which feels VERY relevant for me at the moment because apparently I’m going full circle too!

From Ellesmere… to Shrewsbury… and back again

Many of you will know that before High Aerial Studio, I had a gym in Ellesmere.

But even before that I’d gone from teaching in the school studio, to setting up in the barns (anyone remember the bull?!), then Basecamp version 1 in the freezing cold room upstairs at the old Town Hall where we genuinely wore hats and scarves during Step classes 😂

There was Banana Man arriving at about 3am during the 24-hour Spinnathon – still one of the funniest things I’ve ever experienced – then the bar below us did a runner and left us with no lights… or toilets!!

And somehow the community rallied, we made it safe, kept going and eventually moved into the real space – Basecamp.

Then came Covid.

Basecamp closed and everything changed again.

But over time I rebuilt, and since then my working life has taken me through aerial, pole, Pilates, reformer, coaching, nutrition, strength training and probably quite a few other things I’ve forgotten.

And now, somehow, all those different bits seem to be coming back together.

So… what is LOW.STUDIO?

LOW.STUDIO is a new Movement & Wellness Studio coming to Ellesmere, Shropshire.

LOW stands for Live Optimally Well, which pretty much sums up what I want the space to become.

And of course, with High in Shrewsbury… LOW. just made far too much sense not to 😂

The main focus will be Reformer, and we already have a whole series of different LOW.STUDIO class styles planned.

But LOW. is about more than Reformer.

We’ll also have Pilates and Yoga, independent training and private coaching opportunities, with the wellness side of LOW developing and evolving as we grow.

I don’t want it to be about one particular way of exercising, one body type or whatever fitness trend happens to be having its moment.

I want LOW.STUDIO to be somewhere you can move, get stronger, learn, look after yourself and find things that actually fit into your life.

Because what works for one person won’t necessarily work for another – and what works for you now might look completely different in five or ten years.

That’s normal.

Maybe progress isn’t a straight line after all

Which brings me right back to where I started (see what I did there 😂).

Progress isn’t always about constantly moving forwards.

That applies to fitness. Nutrition. Work. Life. Pretty much everything really.

Sometimes you go round in circles, change direction completely, start again, learn a LOT along the way… and eventually find yourself back where you started, just with more knowledge, more experience and a much better idea of what actually matters to you.

And apparently, for me, that means coming back to Ellesmere 💚

LOW.STUDIO is coming!

The goal – provided all parties involved behave themselves (leases, reformer deliveries and the approximately 7,493 other things currently on my to-do list) – is to open October 2026.

Our planned launch weekend is:

Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th October 2026

Reformer | Pilates | Yoga | Independent Training | Coaching | Wellness

There is LOTS more to share between now and then – the classes, the space, the team, how memberships and passes will work and everything else we’re busy putting together behind the scenes.

For now though, I really just wanted to introduce LOW.STUDIO properly and explain a little bit about where it has come from.

It turns out that going full circle doesn’t necessarily mean going backwards.

Sometimes you just come back with a much better plan.

Right… back to that to-do list! 💚
