Winter warmups are the real deal

Warm ups not only prepare you for your class physically but also they mentally prepare you for what is coming. They help you forget about the day you’ve had or things you still need to do. Warm-ups give you the opportunity to feel present, to focus on what you are doing and build movement pathways in preparation of bigger moves to come.

Here’s a quick list of what you are achieving by getting fully involved in your warm-up…

Reduce risk of injury
Prep the muscles & joints
Prep the mind – mental approach is focussed
Create warmth of skin to improve grip (pole)
Increase energy & positive attitude
Improved Range of Motion
Supports recovery- do the pre-hab, prevents re-hab!!
Builds good habits

Warm-ups are so important, even more so in the winter, so please do not be late for class and risk missing the most important part of the session.

In drop-ins, you are responsible for your own warm-up. We have mats, bands, yoga blocks that you are welcome to use. If you would like a full warm-up to follow subscribe below and you’ll get access next week

As a guide, spend 10-minutes doing purposeful, active and energetic movement targeting all your joints before you even think about getting on your equipment.

And standing under one of the heaters does not count as your warm up 😆

How my warm-up looks:

Joint Mobilisation
Banded Muscle Activation
Flow freestyle
…and gradually remove the layers!
